Dog Steals The Show at the Washington DC Open

This funny moment happened not only once, but twice during the Washington DC Open. A Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya won matches against the British tennis player Emma Raducanu and the Danish player Clara Tauson.

In both matches, her dog named Bella celebrated by bolting across the tennis court to hop into the arms of her beloved owner. Doggy kisses and some serious tail wagging were in order. After all, the tennis player Anna Kalinskaya defeated a British tennis player Emma Raducanu in the Washington DC semi-finals!

That’s a lot to celebrate! And, who else but with a faithful four-legged friend. Check out another video from the official WTA and Washington DC Open Instagram account. Bella gave Anna a mandatory celebratory run.

As you can guess, the audience loved the moment and cheered on together with the duo. However, Bella has a more important role on Anna Kalinskaya’s team than just to celebrate with the winner! She’s a full-on member of her team, with the credentials and all!

The best part is how focused Bella looks while watching the game with the rest of the team. And her little face peeking from behind the fence from the stands –  Adorable!

What breed of dog is Bella?

Bella is a Dachshund, a dog from the hound group. They are often at the center of‌ attention no matter where they are because of their unique long bodies and cute dark eyes. Dachshunds are a very popular family pet in the USA and across the pond in Europe.

And for the right reason! They are little comedians, very affectionate, and a bit stubborn. Combine the looks with such personality and you get a very popular pet. Of course, these are true hounds with a great prey drive.

This means they will love to dig and explore, sniff in search of a potential prey, even if they’ve never been trained as hunting dogs. It’s in their DNA. But, there is a difference between show-line and hunting-line dogs.

Those who belong to the show-line are much more docile and less prone to bolt after a woodland creature. However, they are still hounds! Do not let their appearance fool you.
